Things I'm Digging

Wow, it has been some time since I posted one of these! It certainly hasn't been for lack of interesting things I've wanted to share. There's been plenty going on in the world of art, fashion, culture and the like. No, my lapse has really been about brain fog and stress. One is likely impacting the other (and certainly hormones are at play) but when you're walking around feeling kind of unplugged even trying to distract yourself with the things you love can feel taxing. Anyway, I found myself over the last few weeks missing this outlet and space and also, sending myself notes and emails that I wanted to circle back to and share with you here! So, you see, a hiatus may just be that sometimes and there is always room to get back to what makes you happy!

Here are a few things I'm digging this week.

I saw THIS artist once, somewhere on the Upper East Side doing what she does best. Honestly, she was a little intense. Ha! But, for a few minutes, it was pretty cool to watch her in her element.

I like this idea for holidays.

Let's all keep amplifying and celebrating the voices of Indigenous people. I love this.

This is old news but it's a book, so you can enjoy it anytime.

Here's a film that's worth watching at your leisure. It's about an hour.

I had a conversation with skincare expert Heidi Brown of Brilliance by Brown for the perry. community and I was in need of a new cleanser. Heidi raved about this line and I'm sold.

If I had followed my dreams, I would have been a film critic today! I know, go figure! In college I wrote a VERY long thesis about Black women in film and got to sit down with the great film historian Donald Bogle for some in depth brain picking. He was a gem; ever the teacher. Anyway, this actress was featured in my work and I'd love to see this piece on her life.

Have a great weekend, Beauties, xo.
